Went to Dream on Saturday night with a small group for Kaila’s “Quarter Century Celebration”.

I was so on board when @jhngddrd suggested we put our tree in a basket this year. It has some Scandinavian vibes and is a little bit boho, which I've super been in to. And of course a baby tree for our baby's FIRST CHRISTMAS! 😮🎄 Do you have any memorable traditions that you've started with your little ones? Or ones that you enjoyed when you were young? I'm looking for special ways to celebrate the holidays with Everett that has nothing to do with a certain elf on a shelf.
Tomorrow I return to work. How freaking sad is that?? When I left for maternity leave I wasn't sure if I'd take all of it or come back early. I'm still just as conflicted. It makes me sad that I won't be there if she misses me, but I'm also looking forward to folding back in some of my life "before". It was super hard when @jhngddrd went back to work. I described it as bursting our little bubble, this family cocoon the three of us had built and now we're about to do it again. · People talk all about pregnancy hormones, but these new found mushy, emotional hormones raging through me now? They're awful! I just pray that no one sees me cry at work tomorrow. Or I'll have to quit. On my first day back.
You know how they have signs at job sites that say, "x number of days since our last accident"? I'm thinking of putting up a sign at my house that says, "x number of days since I last cried". Current status: zero days.
This is how it's done, right? Am I doing it? Am I doing the mom thing? 😆
