juliaallison:

Thank you to reader Cecilie, who sent me this, with the following note:

Don’t know if this will make you feel better or not but I saw your request for a model body and thought of a picture my husband showed me a week or so ago (its not like that!)

It really made me smile.

UPDATE!!!

A diligent reader just emailed me this:

i was a little skeptical, so i went looking for the original. i found it here. as you’ll note, it’s a british magazine, which means that the sizes listed are uk sizes (i assume). after living in london for a year, i found that i tended to wear a UK 10 (in the US i wear a 2 or 4 depending on the brand, more often a 4 lately).

so…

this would seem that the men’s ideal, a UK 12, would be more like a US 6, the women’s ideal, a UK 8, would be a US 2, and the average weight, a UK 16, is really like a US 10.

these numbers make more sense, no?

[i would also like to point out that i think british men prefer their women more curvy than their american counterparts. hello bridget jones.]

whew. i’m done now. almost.

with all that said, we all have moments where we want to look like models. even models.

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Me: AMAZING.
