Did your parents really want a boy?

No and it’s a super rude thing that people ask me pretty often.

Depending on which of my parents you ask about the origin of my name, you’ll get a different answer. My mom says she met a girl in college named Kyle and really liked it. My Dad had a younger brother pass away who was named Kyle. I hated it when I was young, I wished my name was Crystal or Britney, but now I think it’s freaking awesome. Yeah, celebrities have kind of ruined the whole “unique” name, but I like to tell people I paved the way.
